Best Diaper Bags for Dads

What goes into making a great diaper bag for daddy? A very good question indeed, and one that I have given some serious thought to. It actually impacts on men a great deal more than you would actually first think. There are of course single Dads to think about, but in the main, the majority of Dads in this area, are usually faced with a strange choice.

Do men just hang in there and go with the bag that their wife or partner has picked, or do they get one that is more manly? When I asked a group of our friends this question, some of the answers were quite astonishing. What we quickly found out and agreed on was that Dad is usually left carrying the bag. This was especially true for the Moms who breast fed.

We also quickly discovered that guys much preferred a backpack, or some type of sport’s backpack to any of the flowery, pastel or big handled diaper bags that we ladies love so much. Yes, the conversations were that frank and honest. I think that is a good thing though rather than men trying to find “excuses” not to have to carry around a diaper bag. Sometimes we ladies need to have a free hand, especially when shopping, and we don’t really need the man in our life, having any more excuses than he already has. Best Diaper Bags for Guys It was easier to ask them and find out what they would pick to carry around so I did. I also checked a few of the so called “men forums” to see what comments I might find on there. Some of those comments I could use but most of them clearly belonged in that strange place known as “man world.”

Diaper Dude Diaper Bag This proved to be one of the best diaper bags for him according to the many forums I looked at. I think to be honest the fact that it said “dude” persuaded most of them. Now that said, there are almost 400 reviews on Amazon and it has an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars which is really very good indeed. The manufacturers describe this as “A diaper bag that dad won’t shy away from.”

This one has been seen on “The View” and has been in many magazines and is classed as being cool, hip and funky. To be fair they do offer a huge 32 different colors and I have include five of them below just to give you a feel for what is available.

Diaper Dude Diaper Bags Those are I think pretty good choices and the bag is a very high quality. It measures 16 x 1 x 14″ and weighs 2.5 lbs. You can click on any of the pictures to read more reviews. Many people buy this for the guy for Father’s Day, and I think that is actually a pretty good idea.

Dadgear Backpack Diaper Bag The name more or less says it all, but this one from Dadgear, is expensive at almost $90. So is it worth that sort of money? I guess if the guy likes and prefers backpack styles, rather than the portfolio style bags, then this makes a very good choice. It could be used for other things other than just a diaper bag, and that is worthwhile some consideration. Many men said they also used this if they went backpacking, cycling and some even used it for the gym.

Like the one above, there are a lot of colors to pick from (26 in total) and again I have included five to give you a sense of what is available.

Dadgear Backpack Diaper Bag Selection This is a pretty good selection though I did leave out the ones with skulls on them as they looked so out of place for a diaper bag. These bags measure 9.4 x 12.6 x 18.9″ so they are good sized bags and they weigh 2.2 pounds. these have been made in a very similar way to hiking packs, and they are certainly will stand up to a whole lot of wear and tear.

It has padded shoulder straps, but has also other straps that can be easily hung from a stroller. They have also integrated a section at the top that should be used for the actual diapers, and it keeps them right at the top of the bag, which is a very handy and useful feature. There are also two large pockets and two bottle pockets, and it comes with a changing pad as well.

Lillian Rose Diaper Bag, Building The Foundation Daddy The little tag on this diaper bag makes it pretty clear that this is a bag for a guy as the tag states “Daddy’s Little Project.” It measures 15.5 x 12.5 x 6″ and has 7 pockets on the outside, and a small zipped pocket inside. This has been specifically designed to look like a bag that Daddy would take to work. It has an optional shoulder strap that can be adjusted and it is made from some type of suede. (It is not real suede though) Many dads will love taking this out, but some of the reviews do say that it is not that high quality. That said the buyers rate this one at 4.7 out of 5, so the quality does not seem to be an issue for most of those. Some people say this is not real leather, but the makers already state that. If this was real leather it would be at least double the price. More at http://bestrateddiaperbags.com/choosing-best-baby-diaper-bag/.

My honest opinion of this one is that it makes a Dad feel special and would make a really nice gift for a caring Dad. My hubby thought it looked really good, but would prefer more of a backpack than this one. It is really a matter of personal taste though.

Concept One Football Diaper Bags Some interesting choices here as well. It would seem pretty clear though that both Moms and Dads are very well pleased when they have one of these, but perhaps for different reasons. Hopefully that has given you some idea of what is available for Dads out there when it comes to getting and using a diaper bag.
